If it's under "your repositories", that means you have a fork of it, or your a contributor to the project. If it's a fork, it will show up here: https://github.com/account/repositories
If so, click on the repository (so http://github.com/:username/:repo ) and then click on "admin" in the navigation immediately to the right of the :username/:repo headers. On the following page at the bottom there's a delete button. If you're a contributor, you may have to ask the original owner to be removed.
