The legacy traffic_ctl when used with the 'host' subcommand created and updated 'host_status' stats when a host is marked up or down. I wanted to get away from using stats however one could always uses 'traffic_ctl metric match host_status' to get a list of hosts marked up or down with traffic_ctl. The new JSONRPC traffic_ctl metric match doesn't return a list of host_status stats.
