~I'm requesting this to be cherry-picked to our various supported branches since this functionality is in all of them but documentation is missing for it in all of them. It could be helpful for users to see it documented in each of our supported doc branches.~ Actually, let's not backport this to the support branches. The feature us broken in all the older branches without #8066 and that change alters TS API enumerated HOOK values, which breaks any plugins compiled against the old version. Thus it is backward incompatible, and we don't want it in the older branches. Therefore, let's leave the feature undocumented in the older branches (since it is broken in them anyway) and only document the feature in 10.x where #8066 fixes it. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
