Could this tag represent a merge request which was merged? This is the only merge request I've done as I'm just starting to use GitLab.

The '[1]' tag points to the commit which was merged. And not the actual commit of the merge, where the two lines meet.

Is this what this means?

Go to the commit itself by clicking the dot.

OK, that is a start. Where would these mentions be located? In
the commit messages? Clicking on the [1] does nothing so I have no
idea where to look. It looked to me like it would point somewhere
but I have not found it. I'm still looking.

At some places I have a [2] and it has two mentions.
