Could this tag represent a merge request which was merged? This is the
only merge request I've done as I'm just starting to use GitLab.
The '[1]' tag points to the commit which was merged. And not the actual
commit of the merge, where the two lines meet.
Is this what this means?

OK, that is a start. Where would these mentions be located? In
the commit messages? Clicking on the [1] does nothing so I have no
idea where to look. It looked to me like it would point somewhere
but I have not found it. I'm still looking.
