+1. I can't log into gitorious because apparently my sreg nickname (Andrew) is already taken.
"This login (Andrew) already exists, please choose a different persona/nickname or modify the current one" I'm glad you accept OpenID, but I wish: 1) you'd accept OpenID 2.0, complete with XRIs 2) you'd not require me to change my nickname at my provider just to log in to you. Suppose I change my nickname just to log into your site, and then change my nickname again, but try to log into your site with my same OpenID? Will you recognize me as a different person because my nickname is different? To recognize people by their nickname is just silly. Please fix this. If the "username" on the site must be different than the openid, then let it default to the nickname if it happens to not conflict and resort to the openid Identifier if necessary, and let the user then go in and customize the appearance of their name on the site. I was eager to check out gitorious as soon as I heard about it and that it accepted OpenID. But this annoyance will drive me away until it is fixed. Not meaning to be controvertial. I just want you to realize it's not worth my while to workaround your strange behavior. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Gitorious" group.
