Sure, that's what Gitorious is all about! Very broadly speaking, Gitorious is organized around projects, and each project has one or more repositories. There is already a project for Flightgear at http://gitorious.org/flightgear - and this project currently has a single repository (mainline) - which seems to be a mirror of the cvs head for Flightgear itself. If the code you're planning on sharing is inside the Flightgear code base, the thing to do is to clone the mainline repository (http://gitorious.org/flightgear/mainline - once you're registered and logged in to Gitorious, you'll see a link to clone the repository on Gitorious). I suggest you contact the project owner - Docpit: http://gitorious.org/~DocPit - and discuss whether your repository should be part of the main project or you should set up a new project. Once you're logged in to Gitorious, you'll see a link to send him a message from his profile page.
