Well, it depends. What instructions did you follow to install Gitorious?
Also, if you are just interested in having a functional local Gitorious
install you could give this article a shot:

It uses Opscode Chef to automatically install Gitorious for you. And, as
part of the cookbook, the application is configured to use Nginx +
Passenger configured with the idle time set to 0.
