Six months ago I deployed the appliance to an ESXi host.

Unfortunally I cant really remember what I did exactly.
But i think i extracted the ovf file (it is not much more than a zip file), 
moved the vmdk file to the ESXi host and setup a machine that used an existing 
disk.
