Hi list, I know this is late and might not be that relevant anymore, but I still feel I owe all the contributors this much. Back in September 2009 we had a GitX user survey, and after receiving a lot of feedback I just vanished. So, sorry again at this point.
Now, the survey was hosted on survs.com, my account still exists, but their free plan no longer allows exporting the results in any kind of way (if anyone knows a good workaround please contact me). So I clumsily exported the results, and pasted the free-text replies into plain files as well. The result can be seen here: http://gitx.heipei.net/gitx-survey-2009/ Maybe someone can still use this or will write this up. A few numbers: - We've had 399 responses to the survey. Of this, 300 came through the Release Notes (autoupdate), before survs automatically closed this channel. The rest came through Hackernews (74), heipei.net (10), Twitter (7), git ml (4), IRC (3), GitX ML (1). The results are not that surprising, and we kept the number of questions to a minimum. Wanted features and integration with webservices is still relevant for future development of GitX. I'll dig through the free text responses, but most of them are pretty much on par with the wanted features and the stuff we've been seeing on Lighthouse etc. Question 8 does hold some very detailed feature-requests, so we should take a look at it and transfer interesting ideas to Lighthouse. The Questions/Comments section (Question 9) is mostly just a big "GitX ROCKS" (almost 200 times, so I guess we should continue releasing). Greetings, Jojo (P.S.: We have 93 subscribers to this ML.
