I didn't know about the /opt/local/Applications destination because
I've always used Macports to install command line apps.

I just checked and saw that I don't have a /opt/local/Applications
directory even after installing GitX.  It looks like the Macports bug
is "the GitX port does not install itself in ${prefix}/Applications".
