There is a growing demand in business and education for versatile tools
at a reasonable cost. To meet that demand, many companies and
educational institutions are turning to open-source software. This
Webinar will explore how open-source software can be integrated into an
organization's learning or knowledge management systems.

Jenny Watt is an Instructional Designer with Interactive Online
Classroom, a provider of online courses to colleges, universities,
businesses and individuals around the world. Jenny will talk about some
of the types of open-source software which are available, advantages of
using open-source software and ways your organization may benefit from
these types of applications.

The Webinar will include demonstrations of several popular open-source
applications and discuss how the applications can be used to build or
expand an e-learning or e-business practice by providing the following
types of e-knowledge delivery models:

* Library models using content management applications like Joomla
<http://www.joomla.org/>

* Presentation models using blog applications like WordPress
<http://wordpress.org/> or Serendipity <http://www.s9y.org/>

* Interaction models using discussion boards like phpBB

* Combination models using online classroom applications like Moodle
