Dear GKD Members,

I am Mosharraf Hossain, Programme Manager of Action on Disability and
Development (ADD). ADD is a UK based international organization working
with disabled people in Asia and Africa. We started work in Bangladesh
in 1995. Community education is one of our major activities to change
the negative attitude of the society. We are promoting an inclusive
society where disabled people have equal participation. We had a radio
programme with the Govt. Radio Station but that programme is stopped.

I am very much impressed going through the article sent by Frederick
Noronha through GKD. We would like to do work on setting up Community
Radio in rural villages of Bangladesh where we are working.

I have some contact with Radio Metro but they are based in Dhaka.
Howerver, there is enough opportunity to set up community radio in
Bangladesh where the vast community do not have access to wrtten or
visual information and communication. Ian Pringle has tremendous
interest about South Asia. It would be an instance to assist the
disabled people in Bangladesh who want to take role to upgrade the
society and prove that they are also equal citizen of the country.

Yours sincerely,

Mosharraf Hossain
Programme Manager
Action on Disability and Development
