Dear GKD Friends,

The NIIT you've known so well for these past years is close to crossing
a momentous milestone at the end of the second decade of its existence.
In the last 20 years NIIT has evolved in more ways than one. From a
predominantly education company to an IT Solutions Corporation. From a
primarily India based company to one of the top ten software exporters
with operations in 38 countries. From the IT education leader in India
to the Top 15 IT Trainers in the world (as per the IDC bulletin of June
2001). The journey has been exciting all the way.

On our 20th anniversary we would like to reiterate the commitment we
made to the computer literacy cause two decades ago. The spark that we
ignited in 1981, is today a fire--a fire we intend fuelling by marking
December 2 as World Computer Literacy Day (WCLD).

As part of NIIT's commitment to this cause we will be offering free
computer training to 20,000 people on December 2, 2001. The recipients
of free training will include 8,000 members of the political leadership
-- Members of parliament, Members of the State Legislative Assemblies in
India and Corporators who will take India forward into the 21st
Century--and 12,000 toppers of Class 8, 9, 10 and 11 from 3,000
government schools in India. It will be a historic achievement, never
attempted before in the world, and I seek your participation to make
this dream a reality.

In this context we request you to put the World Computer Literacy Day
logo, which you can get from the NIIT website [www.niit.com], on your
Web site's home page until December 31st 2001. The logo can be
hyper-linked with the the WCLD Web site
<http://www.worldcomputerliteracy.net>

Through this arrangement a large number of your website visitors will be
encouraged to visit the World Computer Literacy Day Web site and get
details about December 2, 2001. It will also enable them to post their
views on issues related to computer literacy and pledge their support to
WCLD through a campaign on the Internet.

We hope that you will play a leadership role in this campaign by
agreeing to our request.

With warm regards,

Sanjiv Kataria
