It charges the (most commonly) 4.5 - 6 Volt batteries or energises equipment, to prevent down-time or malfunctioning of these equipment, otherwise caused by weak batterries and a poor grid.
This portable charger would provide about 25 Watt-hours of charge per day, more than sufficient for such equipment.
