Information and Governance: the role of public access >From 27 October - 1 November 2002, The British Council will be running a fully residential seminar, entitled "Information and Governance: the role of public access". The event will be directed by Kimberley Barata and Piers Cain of Missenden Consulting LLP, a UK based records and knowledge management consultancy.
Public access to information held by government is essential for the protection of basic human rights, for the rule of law and for efficient public administration. Access to information is rapidly becoming a fundamental component of new government policy and strategies to combat corruption.
