Dear GKD List Members: I would like to share with you the release of "Connected for Development: Information Kiosks and Sustainability", the fourth publication of the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies Task Force (UN ICT Task Force) series, explores the preconditions and critical components necessary for the successful use of Information Kiosks for development. The goal of this book is not to act as a tool kit, but rather, to become a resource for individuals and organizations promoting the use of ICT for economic and social development. The book is divided in two sections: 1) Analytical essays exploring different issues that create an enabling environment for information kiosks; and 2) Case Studies from Africa, Asia, Latin American and Eastern Europe.
