These are my installed RPMs that contains "glib" and "gtk+" words in the name:

gtk+-1.2.6-6mdk
gtk+-devel-1.2.6-6mdk
As you can see 1.2.6 don't works at my home.
What kind of distro are you using ? Min is Mandrake 7.0
