A critical piece of information is missing in your patch: the ChangeLog ;-)
Or in other words, why you did such changes. I can't guess from your patch
why the windows port would need to use the action_Area raather than the
vbox in various places. Having done the first windows port of Glade,
I must admit that I've never needed such patch.
