In Gnome apps you can't set the object field, and setting the data field would
be difficult. So this would only be useful for GTK+ apps.
On the related topic, we shouldn't be losing properties which have already been
set. The menu editor currently only copies fields it uses, then recreates the
widgets when it is finished. It should be keeping a copy of all the current
widget settings and only changing those which were edited.
I'd like to see this fixed in the next version.
