The change that fixed the hangs I was seeing is hiding the widgets on close instead of destroying them: http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&root=/cvs/gnome&subdir=glade3%2Fsrc&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&root=/cvs/gnome&file=glade-project-window.c&rev1=1.56&rev2=1.57 But I'm not 100% sure it's the right fix.
