I agree. Most distribution already include 2.6 even Debian will include
it soon (with the release of Sarge in the next week).
Speaking of "just keep up with the times..."
Since I have to deal with the menubar I think it is a good time to
migrate from the deprecated ItemFactory to UIManager(2.4).

A window to set all the options that could be found in the GKeyFile.
For now it would be just trivial things like the number of files in
recent projects or whether to show or not the splash screen.
Probably it is better to wait for non trivial options to show up :)
Yes! I plan to make a splash screen not just because it is fun but
because it could be used as advertising, per say we could do a splash
screen contest (a la GIMP) to promotionate an alpha release or
something :D
