Well, works for me on sparc-solaris2, anyhow (after hacking around each
of the above snafus).  Parthian shot complaint, though:  the install
script _still_ doesn't install a ghc-<version> link to the driver, which
was acclaimed as a jolly good idea and promised for future releases
any number of versions ago...

(GHC makefiles are way too obfuscated for me to hack by hand, so I
resort to doing N links, manually.)

Otherwise, jolly well done. ;-)
