Hi all. My prior whines about version-numbered binaries have been answered,
I see: thanks, esp. to Simon M. However, I have yet another in this series
of moans...

When I do a gnumake install from the source tree, it flumps, with:

ln -s ghc-3.01 /usr/local/bin/ghc
ln: cannot create /usr/local/bin/ghc: File exists
gnumake[2]: *** [install] Error 2
gnumake[1]: *** [install] Error 2
gnumake: *** [install] Error 2

Removing the old link fixes this behaviour, but ideally it should be
automatic, I'd think.

And yes, I know I said I'd do it the "proper" way this time, installing
from a binary-dist build, but alas, it turns out that needs autoconf,
which isn't on the machine I'm building on. So I've reverted to type. ;-)

Slainte,
Alex.
