Hi again.
I finished my GHC-3.02 portsfile, but the installation is not working very
well.
First of all, let me point you to a few bugs in the manual:
In installation_guide/installing-4.html#sec:install :
2. Run make install. This should work with ordinary Unix make -- no need
for fancy stuff like GNU make.
Note that this does not work for BSD make.
In step 3, you can omit the question mark near tcsh, as it needs rehash, too.
Now, back to my problem. Again in ghc/lib/std:
Panic! Array.o exists, but Array.hi does not. exit 1
Panic! CPUTime.o exists, but CPUTime.hi does not. exit 1
Panic! Char.o exists, but Char.hi does not. exit 1
: :
Panic! Time.o exists, but Time.hi does not. exit 1
: :
install: Array.hi: No such file or directory
install: CPUTime.hi: No such file or directory
install: Char.hi: No such file or directory
: :
In ghc/lib/exts:
Panic! Addr.o exists, but Addr.hi does not. exit 1
Panic! Bits.o exists, but Bits.hi does not. exit 1
: :
Panic! Word.o exists, but Word.hi does not. exit 1
: :
install: Addr.hi: No such file or directory
install: Bits.hi: No such file or directory
: :
install: Word.hi: No such file or directory
gmake[3]: *** [install] Error 71
: :
Stop.
Are the .hi files really needed? If not, where do I tell make to skip these
files? If I do need them, how do I get them and why weren't they compiled?
Thanks,
Tim
