I'm afraid we haven't ported GHC 4.xx to HP boxes yet, and that's why you're
getting this error. The port shouldn't be too much work, though: much of
the code can be pulled over from 3.02.
Feel free to have a go if you're that way inclined, otherwise I'll get
around to putting together a set of patches you can try shortly.
