threadWaitRead on a closed Fd - - -

causes the entire program to crash.  (Not just the thread that is doing the
threadWaitRead.)  Is this not a little drastic?  To run the attached code use

ghc -syslib posix -syslib concurrent -cpp ThreadWaitFail.hs -o TWF
