 Yes thank you for testing -- fantastically helpful.  (The only reason the
 type-equality code is only in the 6.8 branch at all is to make the 6.8
 branch less different from the HEAD, so that merging *other* fixes is
 easier.)

 But yes, for future report, use the HEAD.  Thanks
