Comment:

 When making debs, rpms etc this is exactly what we want to happen. The
 libraries are installed under the DESTDIR, but registered as if they were
 outside it. Then the deb or rpm can be installed just by unpacking outside
 of the DESTDIR.

 If this is causing you problems then please reopen, with more details of
 what you are trying to do.
