 I actually still don't even see the point of requiring !HsColour by
 default.  As Norman writes, !HsColour should be detected by ./configure
 like everything else.  If it's not installed, ./configure should print a
 warning about Haddock code not being nicely marked up and the build
 continue.  What's so special about !HsColour, say compared to the docbook
 tools, that it deserves different treatment?

 If it is really '''that''' important, it's source should be included into
 the GHC repo, just like gmp.
