Comment (by guest):

 The "physically separate file" frustrates me.  It would be less
 specifically-frustrating if type signatures were *always* in a separate
 file, not just the ones for loop-breaking... but I've been to C and C++
 and I can't say that it made me happy to keep those different
 header/source files in sync.
