Installing the ghc-6.11.20090818 binary snapshot for x86_64 fails at 'make
install' time with:

....

ghc-cabal: dist-install/build/libHSghc-prim-0.1.0.0-ghc6.11.20090818.so:

Meaning I am unable to install the snapshot.
