It may be worthwhile to note that supporting builds of universal binaries
would solve this issue. Or perhaps that depends on this issue. Those

Also, it's important to note that previously "Universal Binary" meant
PPC+x86 in one binary, but post Snow Leopard it refers to x86+x86_64; PPC
support was dropped for SL, and the new "deprecated" architecture is x86.
