We need to know which command is causing the ';' unexpected errors.
Perhaps try running make with `-d`?
Regarding the sed problem we need to know whether we have introduced a
dependency on a particular sed extension, and if so, which sed command is
to blame. Jost, you said "missing preprocessor support in the stage-1
compiler", what exactly does that mean? The stage-1 compiler should
normally behave exactly as the stage 2 compiler with respect to
preprocessor support.
