It sounds like you're trying to do a registerised build, and the PPC/Linux
platform has bitrotted.
We are unlikely to look into this as PPC/Linux is a [wiki:Platforms tier 2
platform], but if someone else wants to look into it feel free to talk to
the cvs-ghc list if you get stuck.
