Comment:

 Currently .hp sample time stamps include the profiling overhead.

 In my work-in-progress hp2ps replacement, I have an option to rewrite
 these time stamps to remove the profiling overhead: naturally this assumes
 a constant sampling interval for the life of the profiled program.
