It wouldn't hurt to pull the patch onto the 6.12 branch. We're not
planning to do another release on that branch, but at least the fix will
be in the repository.
Blaisorblade: we're currently maintaining two branches (7.0 and 7.1), and
I'm afraid we lack the manpower to maintain another branch at the same
time. All our efforts are focussed on getting 7.0.1 into a releasable
state.
