Works again after my recent changes to HEAD. I'm strongly disinclined to
separately fix it in the stable branch, because I expect these HEAD perf
patches will make it into 7.0.2. Is it broken in the stable branch? If
so close, if not, I suggest we mark it as an expected failure (I think
it's only Lint bleating).
