Thanks for the report. I intended `-ddump-splices` as a debugging aid; it
was never intended to print out compilable Haskell. It's not an
unreasonable thing to want, but as you discovered someone would have to do
quite a bit of fiddling to make it happen.
So I'll retitle as a feature request. Thanks for the specific list of
changes needed.
