I just did a validate using an existing installation of GHC 7.0.3 on OS X
10.8 DP3 with XCode 4.4 DP5. There are a few test failures that need to
be cleaned up, but the crashes now seem to be gone.
So I presume this was a bug in the linker after all, and Apple fixed it.
