Comment:
There is general breakage in the C backend at the moment, due to fallout
from the new code generator. I'm trying to work through the bugs. I have
a fix for one crash to be committed as soon as it finishes validate, but
there might be more to come.
I don't think the warnings about `memcpy` are serious, but we should
probably add the `popcnt` prototypes somewhere.
