Hi there,

I'd love to get GHC 2.0x working on my PC, but I note the following:

1) Only 2.02 is available in binary

2) I know nothing about the compiler's internals, so would doubtless have
   grave difficulties compiling 2.04

3) The 2.02 download file is both 4 Mb and .tar.gz (rather than .zip), which
   appears to be a problem

4) Other people seem to have had rather a lot of difficulties in the past

So is my dream, as yet, a viable proposition? Firstly, could the download be
made PC-friendly (i.e. split distribution of, say, 1.2 Mb each, and .zipped
instead of .tar.gz'ed)? Secondly, could binary bundles be made available for
the latest version of GHC -- if not, is it reasonably painless to compile the
source? Thirdly, I read that "a healthy collection of GNU tools" is required,
including gcc, ld, bash... Could this collection of tools be made more
explicit i.e. what exactly *do* you need?

Many thanks,

Ed
