I would guess that the majority of users these days get their ghc packaged with a distro (eg Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD, Gentoo, Mandrake). Windows users are probably the only major group who get it straight from Haskell.org. Collecting download statistics for these distros is extremely difficult since they mirror their packages so widely. So don't be surprised if the windows users come out very well represented!
