I don't think there's a way to make it work with Cabal-1.2, 1.4 and 1.6. If you make it work with 1.6 it'll not work with 1.2. But it can work with 1.4 and 1.6 at the same time, or with 1.2 and 1.4 at the same time. Just not all three simultaneously.
