I would second that - this is definitely a known bug in new (epoll-based) IO
manager, closed in 6.12.3. If you decide to upgrade to ghc7, watch out for
http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/4514 and make sure you got at
least 7.0.2
