Okay, I am the lady who, for a variety of reasons, decided to order lenses from MyOpticalShop.com. I purchased geniune Silhouette rimless frames from Ebay ($70), and then ordered the lenses ($108 - shipping included.)
The glasses came Saturday, while I was out of town. They did a beautiful job, but made a mistake and made my glasses up with the wrong lens shape. I'd use these, but the lenses are 8mm wider than the ones I ordered, so they simply don't fit my head and face. I wrote to them explaining the problem, and they responded extremely quickly (less than 15 minutes) as follows: "Very sorry for the mix up. We will do as you say, refund the shipping is no problem. Thanks for your patience with us." I am bummed that I now have a wait a couple more weeks, but I find their response extremely satisfactory. Since I have the glasses here, I took them to my optometrist to see if the prescription was correct, or out in some way. They seemed very surprised, because the prescription is perfect. I am VERY happy about this. I know I'll be getting a new set of lenses, but I feel confident in their ability to make the lenses perfectly. My prescription is complicated; prisms, progressive lenses, and a different PD for each eye, yet they made them up just right. Yay! Overall I am happy with MyOpticalShop. Yes, they made a mistake, but it was basically a clerical one, which they are happy to correct. Their speedy, kind, and downright humble reply to the problem is great. So there you have it, a report on MyOpticalShop.com. I am writing all this because I know this vendor is not well known on this forum, and thought I'd share the information for the benefit of those still looking.
