I'm half tempted to have a pair made up by my jeweler (he goes to my church
and we do favors for each other), but to the standard dimensions of a Zenni
lens. That way I could order an $8 pair, and just swap the lenses into my
new, fancy frame! :-) I'd have him just modify an existing frame, but part
of the "look" is the bulk of the rim, and none of the Zenni frames, at any
price, have that much bulk. Knowing him, he'd want to make it from solid
gold, though...he enjoys goldsmithing, and that's WAAAY out of my budget.

Looking at it critically, it appears as if the frame is made from little
more than a v-groove on one side of a square extrusion...bent and shaped, of
course. Pretty simple, from an engineering standpoint. Given the right
equipment (his LASER welder and a few other tools) I could probably make
them myself!

There are also other styles I like...like this one! Bold, wild, somewhat
crazy, and the completely wrong size and shape for my face...or I'd already
have them. http://www.eyewearscout.com/products_pictures/f4079c.JPG

I like these kinds of weird "techno geek" glasses.

The Axiis pair I originally linked to kind of makes me think of Steampunk
meets Star Trek, but with some refinement. And yes, I also like the wilder
Koure frames from the Orient...but talk about pricey!
