If what's appealing to you on these are the hinges, I wouldn't be surprised if they have been patented, which could be why other makers haven't produced copies. As you know, this is a very high-end frame designer and they know how to make sure that their "look" remains exclusive. If this is the look you absolutely want, you'll probably have to spring for the real thing. :)
