Well, I finally ordered some sun glasses. The only place that responded that they could do my odd script was Zenni. It was a long wait but so far worth it. I will get the lens script checked soon and update on accuracy, but since I can read this, I'm thrilled! Tried them driving, no issues.
The left side vision is distorted, however this is true in my expensive regular glasses. I paid $37 altogether for 1.51 (I believe) index, sunglasses weren't available in 1.67. The frame is not that attractive and the lens is oddly shaped, it doesn't fill the upper corners by the nostrils, there is just blank space. I don't think this would happen with a weaker prescription. At first glance, there appears to be a dark small lens floating in a lighter color larger lens. But I then realized this is from how tapered they made the inside of the lens. Perhaps to make the thickness less noticeable? I'll post pics. Overall, very odd looking but compared to wearing cataract shades over my glasses at age 39, I'm ecstatic. I'm going to definitely order more. Maybe I'll have better results with a higher index clear lens. I triple checked around here to find glasses on the cheap, even the places touting $89 for the whole package were going to charge $400 or couldn't do the lens at all. I'm so grateful for this blog and for places like Zenni. I'll continue to get my "good" frames at my optician, I appreciate their years of expertise and assistance. But spares and sunglasses, once unheard of for me, will come from Zenni. If only Toric contacts were this easy! A million thanks. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://www.glassyeyes.com!
