You can't replace screw-ins with snap-ins. The fit is different and
the pads will fall out.

What I would do is go to an optician with your glasses and no pads or
screws. They'll replace the pads and the screws. Many will do this for
no charge, some will charge a nominal fee, and some will overcharge,
so you probably need to call ahead to find that out.

By the way, the green stuff is metal corrosion from sweat. You can
usually clean it all off with a toothbrush and a mild cleaner like
hand dishwashing lotion.
