Chuck--Thanks a lot for your very helpful advice. The thickness calculator showed me that I don't have much difference between one material and another. As I increased the size of the lens in the calculator, the edge thickness went up. I thought it was the other way around, that the smaller the lens, the thicker it would have to be.
I'll look around and find the best deal. I have read that the visual acuity of polycarbonate isn't as good as plastic. Is it that much of a difference? With regard to my PD measurement, I'm considering calling the office of the optometrist from whom I got the prescription. I went to an independent OD inside a LensCrafters and they didn't seem bothered when I said that I wouldn't be getting glasses that day. Hopefully they won't get annoyed if I tell them that I'm getting glasses online. I don't know what the big deal would be if they are an independent office. Thanks again. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://glassyeyes.blogspot.com!
